Denisa Caceres

Denisa Caceres | M.A., R.P. (She/Her)

I received my Honours BA from York University with a double major in Psychology and Law & Society.  After completing my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from American International College in Massachusetts, USA, I moved back to Toronto. Since then, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including agencies, residential treatment programs and clinics supporting youth, adults, parents/caregivers and families.  I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). I am also certified in Exposure and Response Prevention treatment for OCD through the Cognitive Behaviour Institute.

Therapy is most effective when it is a partnership between the client and the therapist, and where we work together to help you make the changes you are looking to make. Most of us may need to access therapy at some point to help us work through a difficult period in our lives.  I utilize a variety of different therapeutic approaches, depending on the presenting issue and your individual needs, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and the Family Systems Approach.  I work from an Attachment and Trauma informed framework.  I believe that everyone deserves a safe and judgment free space where they feel heard, respected and valued.
