Chelsie Ostrega

Chelsie Ostrega, MA, R.P. (She/Her)

I received my B.A. in Psychology from McGill University and completed my M.A in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I have a special interest in working in private practice and have tailored by training experiences to be in these settings helping youth and adults with a wide range of psychological concerns.

MY APPROACH

My approach to therapy begins with gaining an understanding of each person and their goals for therapy. I am passionate about helping clients identify thoughts and emotional patterns that are causing them to feel stuck and working with them to develop strategies and insights that will lead to long-lasting change and growth.

I consider the therapeutic relationship to be at the heart of successful therapy and will strive to create an environment that is warm, encouraging, non-judgemental, and safe. My work with clients is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each person’s individual needs. I draw from several therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
